This camera is located just west of the Jericho Sailing Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada. There are usually ships visible anchored in English Bay and the buildings of West Vancouver can be seen along the distant shoreline. Cypress Bowl ski area is in the mountains on the left and Grouse Mountain ski area is above the tree tops on the right. A new picture is taken every 10 minutes during daylight hours.

The camera location is a block from the beach on a house at Belmont & Tolmie streets.
The camera was a Creative PC Cam 750 on Oct 16, 2002, and then upgraded to a Logitech Pro 9000 on Nov 23, 2007. It uses a USB connection to a Pentium 3GHz computer running Windows XP SP2. The camera is set to 960x720 resolution. The ftp software is Yawcam. It is scheduled to update the picture every 10 minutes during daylight hours. The image is uploaded over a Shaw cable internet connection.
A second camera was added in July 2008. It is an Axis 210 model set to upload the image webcam2.jpg every 12 minutes. It is mounted much higher and gets a better view, but it does not have comparable image resolution in low light conditions.
